Terms

Skim is a limited preview that turns Gmail activity into a small, people-first card deck.

Effective 30 July 2026

Preview service: Skim is under active development. Features, storage paths, and availability may change as the server-assisted architecture moves through its rollout gates.

Using Skim

You must have authority to connect each Google account you add. You authorize Skim to use the Google scopes shown during consent only to provide its mail-triage, label, and Skim-created Drive-state features. Do not use Skim to access another person’s account or for unlawful activity.

Gmail remains authoritative

Skim cards are summaries and prompts, not a separate mailbox. Gmail messages and Gmail label state remain the source of truth. Skim’s “Done” action adds a label; it does not delete mail. You should verify important dates, amounts, security warnings, and commitments against the original message.

Automation and AI

Deterministic parsers and optional cloud classification can be incomplete or wrong. An AI badge identifies model-assisted results, but no badge makes a card authoritative. Skim does not provide financial, legal, medical, security, or professional advice, and should not be your only alerting channel for time-critical obligations.

Third-party services

Skim depends on Google services, Cloudflare, and—only in the current owner/test classification path—DeepSeek. Those services have their own terms and availability. Skim’s handling of data and the staged server rollout are described in the Privacy notice.

Availability and changes

The preview is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise of uninterrupted operation, permanent storage, or error-free extraction. Access may be limited or withdrawn to protect users, data, infrastructure, or provider compliance. Material changes to data handling will be disclosed before the affected path becomes primary.

Your content and feedback

You retain your rights in your email and Skim-created Google Drive files. You grant Skim only the permission needed to process them for the service you requested. Product feedback may be used to improve Skim, but you should not include confidential message content in feedback channels.

Ending use

You can sign out in Skim, revoke Google access, and clear browser site data. The current sign-out clears the local account vault on that device. When the revision-002 server account plane is enabled for you, its disconnect flow also revokes the server-held provider credential and deletes active derived server state as described in the Privacy notice.

Responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the preview operator is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss caused by unavailable service, missed or incorrect cards, third-party outages, or actions taken without checking the source message. Nothing here excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Questions

Use the operator contact shown on the Google OAuth consent screen through which you received preview access.
